Rules - Vanillacraft

Welcome to Vanillacraft!

We're a whitelisted server. That means that you need to apply to join us.
We do this to make sure that everyone on the server is a good fit for our community, and to keep the server safe and fun for everyone who plays!
We also need to check everyone has the best of intentions when they join, and that they understand our rules.
We don't accept everyone who applies in order to keep the server a safe and enjoyable place for everyone who plays. Please take your time with your application!

It's important that you [read our rules](/rules) before you apply!
You'll also need to have a paid Minecraft account to join - we aren't a cracked server, so you won't be able to join with a free launcher, unfortunately.
We also need a basic level of English so you're able to understand the rules and communicate with other players and understand staff messages!

Join our discord server.
Read the rules and make sure you understand them and haven't missed anything :)
Read through this application guide to make sure you are making a good application.
Go to the #tickets channel, and click on "Make a server application" to get started!
If you'd rather apply by email, you can send your application to apply@vanillacraft.org instead. Applications that way may take a bit longer to process.

We don't have a word count requirement.
We do want to make sure you are going to be a great, long-term player for our server!
So the more you can tell us about yourself, the better! We want to get to know you and understand why you'd be a good fit for our community.
As a general rule of thumb, you don't need to write more than the Discord character limit (2000 characters)
You can do if you want though, and we'd greatly encourage you to if you have more to say about yourself!

We try to be a small server where everyone can get to know each other and make friends.
We want to make sure that everyone is a good applicant and will benefit the experience of other players.
To do that, it means we have to be strict on applications. Not everyone who applies will be accepted, and we do have to reject applications that don't meet our standards.
We understand that this can be disappointing, but we hope you understand that we're trying to create the best possible experience for everyone on the server!
To have the best chance of being accepted, make sure you read the rules and this guide carefully, and write a great application that tells us about yourself and why you'd be a great fit for our community. It's not all about how much you write, but the more you can tell us about yourself and why you'd be a great fit for our community, the better!

Your timezone and when you're usually online.
Any hobbies you're interested in, related or unrelated to Minecraft.
Do you have, or plan to invite, any friends on/to the server?
Anything else about your personality or experiences that you'd like to share with us!
This could include your job, what you study at school/college, your music tastes, any cool things you've done in or outside of Minecraft, or anything else you'd be interested in sharing with us!

This is a really important question!
It helps us understand why you want to join our community, and what you hope to get out of the experience.
It also helps us understand whether you have a good understanding of what our server is about, and whether you're a good fit for our community.
You can talk about what you like about our server, what you hope to do on the server, and anything else you'd like to share about why you want to join us.
We also want to get any expectations you have about the server, so we can make sure we can meet them - this is a chance to make sure *we* are the right server for *you* just as much as it's a chance for you to show us you're the right player for us!

This is your chance to tell us about what you hope to do on the server!
Do you want to build big things? Do you want to explore and find cool places? Do you want to make friends and be a part of the community? Or anything else!
We want to get a sense of what you hope to do on the server, and how you hope to contribute.
It also helps us know whether this server is for you or whether you might be better off on a different server with a different focus. We want to make sure that everyone on the server is going to have a great time and get what they want out of the server!

This section is also something that's really important to include!
It's your chance to show us how you will be a positive member of our community, and how you will contribute to the experience of other players on the server.
You can talk about how you will be friendly and helpful to other players, how you will follow the rules and set a good example for others, and anything else you'd like to share about how you will contribute to our community!
We want to make sure that everyone on the server is a positive influence on the community, and that everyone is contributing to making the server a fun and enjoyable place for everyone to play!
This is your chance to show us that you will be a great member of our community, and it's one of the best ways to convince us we should accept your application.
